The Heaven on Earth Project
As kids, our parents taught us an invaluable lesson: Life is about service to others. Our father co-founded Athletes Serving the Community (ASC)—an innovative nonprofit that united student athletes to serve together across Greater Boston.
Leveraging decades of team sports and community leadership — and an innate zest for disruption and innovation — we followed in his footsteps. We launched in 2014 at the Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival under the auspices of The Heaven on Earth Project, naming it “Santa Barbara Hustlers”.
With a flip chart and Coors Light tent (sadly, no beer) nearly 100 caring, curious citizens joined our social experiment. Our community service team was ready to play! Now all we needed was our first game.

Serving Santa Barbara
Our first opportunity was the Food Bank’s annual “Fork and Cork” gala. Together, we served alongside the Food Bank team as ONE.
Word spread. With an inclusive team and playful spirit, hundreds of citizens united to serve thousands of hours, raising millions for worthy causes across Santa Barbara County—from youth education to girls empowerment, human rights and the arts, mental health to planetary activism, all in the name of ONE.
